Biography

Rachel Roarx

Rachel Gene Roarx is an American Democratic politician who has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 38th district since January 1, 2023. She was born on March 25, 1997, and resides in the Parkwood Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, with her husband Derrick Davis. The two are high school sweethearts and lifelong Southend residents.

Roarx ran for office as a strong advocate for labor, first responders, healthcare, safety, infrastructure, and the Southend community. She has demonstrated a proven track record for fostering bipartisan support in the state legislature and being responsive to constituents.

Education

Roarx is a graduate of Holy Cross High School, where she was the Class of 2015 Salutatorian and was inducted into the Holy Cross High School Hall of Fame in 2023 with the Next Generation Award. She also attended Notre Dame Academy.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Louisville, where she concentrated in Law and Public Policy with a minor in Social Change. In 2025, she received the University of Louisville Political Science Department's Brennen-Haly Award.

Political Experience

Prior to her election to the state legislature in November 2022, Roarx served the local community as a Legislative Aide in the Office of Councilwoman Nicole George for Metro Council District 21. Before that, she worked at UPS as an Administrative Assistant on the night shift.

Currently, Roarx works as a contract worker for the Louisville Independent Business Alliance ** and formerly served as Executive Director of the Southwest Dream Team . She is also active in community leadership, serving as the **Immediate Past Board President of The Little Loomhouse and Vice President of the Happy Birthday Circle board of directors. She spent six years supporting youth in Jefferson County through her board service with Louisville Girls Leadership and is a member of Pi Beta Phi, The Political Women's Council, The League of Women Voters, and St. Lawrence Catholic Parish.
