Biography
Mary "Pricey" Harrison is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 61 in central Guilford County since 2005. A retired communications attorney from Greensboro, she has served 11 terms and is recognized for leadership on environmental protection, clean energy, green jobs, social justice, public education, and healthcare access. Notable achievements include her role in enacting the Racial Justice Act, serving as Vice Chair of the Environment and Judiciary committees, and introducing 2025 legislation to prohibit commercial octopus farming for animal rights and environmental reasons. She is a member of the Progressive House Caucus and has held leadership positions with the Julian Price Family Foundation, North Carolina Environmental Defense Fund, and Piedmont Land Conservancy.
