Biography
Polly Thomas
Polly Jung Thomas is a Republican State Representative from Louisiana representing House District 80, which covers Jefferson Parish. She has been a dedicated public servant in her community for several decades, serving in various leadership roles.
Education
Thomas earned multiple degrees in education and psychology:
- B.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from University of Southwestern Louisiana
- M.S. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University
- Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University
She was a National Honor Society student throughout her academic career.
Political Experience
Thomas has held several political positions:

- Candidate for State Senate
In the Louisiana House, she serves as Vice Chair of the Commerce Committee and holds positions on the House and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Retirement Committee, and the House Select Committee on Women and Children. She is also a member of the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus and the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation.
Beyond her legislative work, Thomas has been active in community leadership, serving as Chair of the Jefferson Parish Republican Executive Committee, President of the St. Catherine School Board, Chair of the Lambeth House Board of Directors, and Board Member of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Jefferson Chamber of Commerce.
