Phillip Eric Tarver represents Louisiana House District 36, covering Calcasieu Parish. Born in 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Vince and Eula Tarver, he owns Lake Charles Toyota and previously served on the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Elected in 2019 and assuming office on January 13, 2020, he was re-elected unopposed in 2023 and is eligible to serve through 2028. Notable positions include Executive Officer of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, and committee assignments on Appropriations, Education Labor and Industrial Relations, Transportation, Highways and Public Works, House Select Committee on Homeland Security, Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, Acadiana Delegation, and Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation.
