Biography
Phil Stephenson is a Republican who represented Texas House District 85 from 2013 to 2023. Born on February 5, 1945, in Duncan, Oklahoma, he is an accountant who owns Stephenson, LeGrand & Pfeil, PLLC in Wharton, Texas, since 1976. A native of Wharton County, he previously ran unsuccessfully for HD28 in 2000 and served as County Chair of the Republican Party of Wharton County from 1997-2000. He is a founding member of a local tea party, Kansas City Royals scout, and Babe Ruth League baseball coach. Married to his first wife Barbara , he has two children: Scott and Allison.
