Biography
Phil Robinson , a Democrat, represents Ohio House District 19 in Cuyahoga County, including Solon. Born December 28, 1980, in Northeast Ohio, he is a non-profit executive who flipped the 6th District from Republican to Democratic control in 2018 with 51% of the vote and now serves District 19 since 2023, succeeding Mary Lightbody. Notable achievements include authoring bipartisan HB 4 for higher-paying jobs, securing $625 million for public school wraparound services and teacher salary increases, $58 million for TechCred tech credentials, $250 million for rural broadband, and contributions to the H2Ohio fund and Fair School Funding Plan. He serves as Assistant Minority Leader, on committees for Primary and Secondary Education, Public Utilities, Ways and Means, and Joint Education Oversight, and previously led City Year Cleveland to double revenue, expand operations, and boost a school's graduation rate from 39% to 73%.
