Biography
Peyton Holmes Porter Griffee is a Republican representative for Kentucky House District 26, which includes parts of Bullitt and Hardin counties. A resident of Mount Washington, he serves as an attorney at Sweat & Griffee Law Firm, a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Judge Advocate with the 244th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, and founder/chair of the Salt River Area Young Republicans. He was elected unopposed in a special election in March 2024 following Russell Webber's resignation, and won the 2024 general election with 15,070 votes. Griffee is a pro-life advocate, Second Amendment defender, and supporter of law enforcement.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: BA from Georgetown College; JD from University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
- Early Political Roles: At Georgetown College, served as Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Student Government Association, president of Georgetown College Republicans, and Public Relations Chair for Kentucky College Republicans. In law school, elected class representative to the Student Bar Association and active with the conservative Ordered Liberty organization. Founded Salt River Area Young Republicans and serves as vice-chair of the Kentucky Young Republican Federation.
- Professional Experience: Law clerk for Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron; assistant county attorney in Hardin County; opened private practice in Shepherdsville.
