Peter Fischer is a Democratic-Farmer-Labor member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 44A , which covers parts of Ramsey and Washington counties. He was first elected in 2012 and is currently serving his 7th term as a retired businessman. He is married to Kristi and has three children: son Peter and daughters Hannah and Emily. Notable positions include Co-Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee and member of the Human Services Finance and Policy Committee.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: A.A. from Lakewood Community College ; B.A. in business administration from the University of St. Thomas.
• Political Experience: Elected to the Minnesota House in 2013 ; reassigned to District 44A from 2023-present. Ran successfully in the 2024 general election for District 44A.
