Peter Jaret Abbarno is a Republican representing Washington's 20th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives, serving alongside Ed Orcutt since January 11, 2021. A resident of Centralia, Washington, he is an attorney, businessman, and community leader married to Holly Abbarno, a math teacher, with whom he has two children, Sophia and Antonio. In 2020, he was named “Person of the Year” by the Daily Chronicle editorial board, and he holds the position of Minority Caucus Chair. Notable achievements include authoring Zack's Law , requiring warnings about bridge-jumping dangers and cold water shock, named after a local drowning victim.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the State University of New York at Fredonia ; Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School ; Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Washington .
• Professional Experience: Worked nearly 10 years in government and politics; served as deputy assistant prosecuting attorney in King County Juvenile Court; joined Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP in Centralia in 2010, becoming partner in 2013; practices in estate planning, business/corporate law, family law, criminal law, workers’ compensation, and personal injury; volunteers for domestic violence victims, non-profits, and entrepreneurs.
• Political Experience: Elected to Centralia City Council in 2015, re-elected in 2019, and served as mayor pro tem in 2020; elected to Washington House in 2020 with 71% of the vote, defeating Timothy Zahn; re-elected unopposed in 2022 with over 96%. Currently serves as Ranking Minority Member on the Joint Administrative Rules Review Committee and Committee Member on Consumer Protection & Business.
