Pete Appollonio is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island Senate representing District 29 . He assumed office on January 7, 2025, after defeating Republican incumbent Anthony DeLuca II by 44 votes in the 2024 election. Born in October 1972 in Warwick, Rhode Island, he resides in Conimicut with his wife, Yolanda Castillo, and daughter, Maria. A retired West Warwick Police Captain with 24 years of service , he now works as a substitute teacher in Warwick Public Schools.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Rhode Island College; attended local Warwick schools including Lippitt, Saint Rose of Lima, Gorton, and Veterans' Memorial.
• Political Experience: Elected to Rhode Island Senate District 29 in November 2024; serves as Secretary of the Senate Committee on Special Legislation & Veterans' Affairs and Member of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services.
