Biography
Perry Van Bailey is a Republican member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 23, which includes portions of Calhoun, Grenada, Lafayette, and Webster counties. Born on December 17, 1963, in Calhoun County, Mississippi, he is a farmer and works with the National Resource Conservation Service. He is married to Tyanne and is Baptist. Bailey affiliates with Farm Bureau, Derma Baptist Church, and Calhoun County National Wild Turkey Federation. He won the seat in a 2025 special election following Andrew Stepp's death, after earlier competitive races including a narrow 2023 runoff victory and a primary loss.
