Biography

Allen R. "Penny" Demar is a Republican representative for Franklin-7 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since 2023. Born in St. Albans, Vermont, in 1952, he grew up in Montgomery and now resides in Enosburgh Falls. He owned and operated a local meat market, worked as a retired rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, and taught hunter safety training for the State of Vermont for 39 years. Demar served on the Enosburg Development Review Board and Planning Commission, the Enosburg Falls School Board, and the Franklin Northeast Supervisory Union Board. He was married to Deborah Kennison for 48 years until her passing; they raised three children and six grandchildren. His interests include golfing, hunting, hiking, traveling, and attending local events.
