Biography
Peggy S. Scott is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 31B in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area, including cities such as Andover and East Bethel, and parts of Anoka and Isanti Counties. Born in December 1961 in Corydon, Iowa, and residing in Andover, Minnesota, she is married with two children and owns/manages rental real estate. She was first elected in 2008 and has served continuously, representing District 49A , District 35B , and District 31B . Notable achievements include serving as assistant minority leader , chairing the Civil Law and Data Practices Committee , and sponsoring a 2012 shared parenting bill that passed the Legislature with over 68% support before a veto. She currently co-chairs the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee, co-vice chairs Ways and Means, and serves on Rules and Legislative Administration and Higher Education Finance and Policy.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Associate's degree in fashion merchandising from Lowthian College in 1983; attended Wayne Community High School.
Political Experience: Elected to the Minnesota House in 2008 after defeating the incumbent's successor, winning with 59.34% of the vote; reelected multiple times with strong margins . Prior community roles include Andover Parks and Recreation Commission member, youth soccer and basketball coach, and church involvement in women's/youth ministry and after-school care coordination at Meadow Creek Church and Transform Church in Andover.
