Biography

Peggy Lehner is a Republican politician born on August 5, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio. A long-time resident of Kettering, Ohio, where she has lived for over 45 years with her husband, James Lehner, MD, and raised their five children, she has dedicated her career to public service, focusing on health care, aging, seniors, children’s issues, education, and local government.

She represented the 6th Ohio Senate District, encompassing portions of Montgomery County, and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Notable achievements include serving 10 years on Kettering City Council , founding and leading the bipartisan Children’s Caucus in the Senate to champion issues like foster care and early childhood education, and receiving recognition from the Senior Resource Connection in 2001 for Outstanding Service to the Senior Community by an Elected Official.
