Paul R. Takac Jr. is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 82nd District in Centre County since 2023. Elected in 2022 after defeating Republican Justin Behrens in a competitive race for the newly redrawn district, he successfully defended his seat in 2024. The district includes the Penn State University Park Campus, parts of State College Borough, and townships such as College, Harris, Benner, Snow Shoe, and others across northern Centre County. A retired account executive with over 30 years in business, including two decades in educational technology consulting, Takac prioritizes full funding for education, environmental justice, clean energy, individual rights, support for working families, and local community investments. Raised in a working-class union family, he is pro-choice, advocating for medical privacy and reproductive health care decisions between patients and providers. He and his wife Regan have lived in Happy Valley for over 20 years, raising three children there.
