Biography
Paul Schemel is a Republican who represented Pennsylvania's 90th House District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from January 2015 to January 2025. Born on November 6, 1971, in Buffalo, New York, he resides in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, with his six children. A former politician and attorney, Schemel served as an advisor on local government for Iraq at the U.S. Department of State and held local office as a Greencastle councilor for six years before his 2014 election to the House. He declined to run for reelection in 2024.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a BA from the University of Dallas and a JD from Regent University.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Pennsylvania House in 2014, succeeding Todd Rock; served through 2024, succeeded by Chad Reichard. Previously a Greencastle councilor.
