Biography
Paul Kanitra is a Republican Assemblyman representing New Jersey's 10th Legislative District, which includes parts of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Sworn into the New Jersey General Assembly in January 2024, he focuses on fiscal responsibility, protecting the Jersey Shore, public safety, and improving quality of life for families. He serves on the Assembly committees for Public Safety and Preparedness, Telecommunications and Utilities, and Children, Families and Food Security. Prior to the Assembly, he was Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach from 2020 to 2023, Councilman from 2018 to 2019, and served on the Planning Board from 2020 to 2023; he also sat on the board of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors and is a member of the Ocean County Republican Committee since 2022.
Notable achievements include awards such as Distinguished Citizen of the Year from the Grand Lodge Order of Elks, Rotary International's 2022 community service award, Tuesday Morning Group's Mayor of the Year for Ocean County , Insider NJ's Top 100 Millennials , and induction into the Point Pleasant Beach Education Foundation's Hall of Fame . A lifelong Jersey Shore resident, he resides in Point Pleasant Beach with his wife Alora, son Paul Bradley, and Labrador retriever Jetty.
