Biography
Senator Paul D. Corderman

Paul D. Corderman was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland on September 1, 1977. He grew up in the same neighborhood where he currently resides and delivered newspapers as a child. He is married to Kerri and has one daughter, Samantha, along with their Golden Retriever, Chewie.
Education
Corderman graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1995. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000.
Political Experience
Corderman began his public service career on the Hagerstown City Council, serving from 2016 to 2017. He was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in December 2017 and served until August 31, 2020. During his time in the House, he was a member of the Appropriations Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Maryland Legislative Transit Caucus.
He was appointed to the Maryland State Senate on September 1, 2020, representing Washington County initially, and later Washington and Frederick counties following redistricting in January 2023. He was subsequently elected to the Senate in November 2022. In the Senate, Corderman serves on the Budget and Taxation Committee and the Senate Committee on Audit and Evaluation. He also participates in several task forces and workgroups, including the Task Force to Study Nonpublic Student Bus Transportation and the Workgroup to Study the Implementation of an Expanded 3-1-1 Nonemergency System.
Prior to his political career, Corderman worked as a repair coordinator for Progressive Insurance from 2003 to 2013 and as a shop manager at Mace Auto Body in Smithsburg, Maryland from 2013 to 2019.
