Biography
Patrick McMath - Louisiana State Senator
Patrick McMath is a Republican state senator representing District 11 in Louisiana, which encompasses St. Tammany Parish. First elected in 2019, he is currently serving his second term and is eligible to serve through the end of the 2028-2032 term.
McMath is deeply committed to serving his community both in the legislature and through volunteer work. He serves on the boards of several local organizations, including the West Saint Tammany Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Club of Covington, and the Kelly Gibson Foundation.
He is married to his wife Jayne and is a father of four children: Mary Michael, Margaux, George, and Mae.
Education
McMath earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Louisiana State University. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
Political Experience
Before entering the Louisiana State Senate, McMath served as an assistant district attorney in Louisiana's 22nd Judicial District Court.
As a state senator, McMath currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee, focusing on patient advocacy and child welfare. He also sits on several other important committees, including:

- Transportation, Highway, and Public Works Committee
- Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee
- Water Sector Commission
- Senate Select Committee on Women and Children
His legislative priorities include infrastructure improvements, tax reform, public safety, and continued state investment in community service organizations. He is particularly dedicated to addressing transportation infrastructure needs across Louisiana, including highways, roads, bridges, ports, and water conservation districts.
