ABOUT
Patrick J. Harkins is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing District 1 from 2006 to 2016. Prior to his election to the State Senate, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006. Harkins attended Rosemont College and received his Associate's degree from University of Scranton and his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Marywood University. Harkins has a background as a realtor and contractor. He has served on a number of civic organizations, including as Treasurer of the Anthracite Region Trout Unlimited and a member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Alliance. He has also served on several government committees focused on issues like urban development, agriculture, and renewable energy.read less
