Biography
Patrick Flannery
Patrick Clay Flannery was born on December 29, 1980, and is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing the 96th district. His district encompasses Carter and Lewis counties as well as part of Boyd County in eastern Kentucky. He resides in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and is known for his work as an attorney and businessman. Flannery is a member of the Baptist faith and serves as Chair of the Carter County Republican Party.
Education
Flannery earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College and a Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University's Chase School of Law.
Political Experience
Flannery has served as a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2021, when he assumed office following predecessor Kathy Hinkle. Prior to his legislative role, he served as Carter County Attorney from 2011 to 2014.
In the Kentucky House, Flannery holds several significant committee positions, including Chair of the Local Government Committee. He also serves as a member of the Judiciary, Natural Resources & Energy, and Licensing, Occupations, & Administrative Regulations committees. Additionally, he participates in multiple legislative caucuses, including the Pro-Life Caucus, Kentucky-Israel Caucus, Mountain Caucus, and Aerospace/Aviation Caucus, among others.
