Biography
Patricia Cornell
Patricia Cornell is a Democratic politician who represents the Hillsborough 22nd district in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, she has built a career centered on public service and community engagement. She is married and currently resides in Manchester.
Education
Patricia Cornell earned her BA in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire in 1975 and subsequently completed her MEd in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from the same institution in 1977.
Political Experience
Cornell has served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives since 2014, initially representing the Hillsborough 18th district before redistricting moved her to the Hillsborough 22nd district in 2022. Prior to her legislative career, she worked as a middle school guidance counselor in the Manchester School District for 36 years before retiring.
Beyond her House service, Cornell has held several notable positions including:
- Vice Chair of the Manchester City Democrats
- Trustee of the Manchester City Library
- Former Commissioner of the Manchester Water Works
- Former member of the Municipal and County Government Committee in the State House
- Assistant Democratic Floor Leader
Her background in social work and counseling psychology combined with her extensive experience in education and community service have shaped her legislative focus on constituent needs and local governance.
