Biography
Senator Pat Woods represents New Mexico Senate District 7, which includes Curry, Harding, Quay, and Union counties. A farmer and rancher from Broadview, New Mexico, he has served as a state senator since 2012 and currently holds the position of Minority Whip. He is married to Eva Woods for over 50 years, with three children and four grandchildren; three generations of the Woods family live on their ranch. His father, Jim Woods, was a World War II veteran and dry land wheat farmer, and his mother was Margie Woods. Notable committee roles include member of Senate Finance, Economic and Rural Development, Transportation Infrastructure Revenue, Water & Natural Resources, and various interim committees such as Legislative Finance, Economic and Policy, and Water and Natural Resources; he is also an advisory member of Legislative Council. Previously, he served as Ranking Member of the Conservation Committee and on Corporations & Transportation and Education committees.
