Biography
Representative Patricia Roybal Caballero is a Democrat representing District 13 in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, in the state House of Representatives, where she has served since 2013. A 22+ generation Native New Mexican and tribal member of the Piro Manso Tiwa Tribe, Pueblo of San Juan de Guadalupe, she was raised in El Paso, Texas, and has over 50 years of experience as a community and labor organizer, certified community economic, housing, and business developer. Notable achievements include serving as New Mexico House Democratic Caucus Chair , National Treasurer of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators , and immediate past National Treasurer of LULAC; she also founded MEChA and Chicano Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1969-1970.

- Education: BA from the University of Colorado/Boulder; Masters in Public Administration and Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico; current Ph.D. candidate in Chicana and Chicano Studies at UNM .
- Political Experience: Elected to New Mexico House District 13 in 2012 and re-elected in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022; Vice Chair of House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee , Vice Chair of House Labor, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee, Chair of Behavioral Health Interim Committee, Vice Chair of Investments & Pensions Oversight Committee; current member of House Labor, Veterans' and Military Affairs Committee and Economic & Rural Development & Policy Committee.
