Biography
Pat Flowers
Patrick Joseph Flowers was born on March 2, 1956, in Akron, Ohio. He is an American politician and member of the Montana Democratic Party who has served in the Montana Senate representing District 32 since 2019. He is married to Melissa and resides in Belgrade, Montana.
Education
Flowers earned a Bachelor of Science in forestry and a Master of Science in forest economics from the University of Montana.
Political Experience
Before entering electoral politics, Flowers had an extensive career in natural resources management. He worked at the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, serving as chief of the Forestry Management Bureau. He then worked as the Region 3 supervisor of the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks for 31 years before retiring in August 2014.
Flowers was first elected to the Montana Senate in 2018 and has served in multiple legislative sessions including 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025. He has held the position of Minority Leader of the Senate since 2023, a significant leadership role within the chamber.
Currently, Flowers serves on several key committees including Senate Natural Resources, Senate Fish and Game, Senate Finance and Claims, Senate Taxation, and the Senate Executive Review Committee. His committee assignments reflect his extensive background in natural resources and conservation policy. He is also a member of the Joint Appropriations Section A — General Government.
