Biography
Patricia "Pat" A. Dillon is a Democratic state representative serving Connecticut's 92nd House District, which encompasses part of New Haven, since 1985. She is the longest-serving member of the Connecticut House of Representatives with over 41 years of tenure and currently holds the position of Deputy Majority Leader . Notable achievements include shaping state policies on AIDS, family violence, injury prevention, addiction, mental health, school-based health centers, and support for the disabled; co-founding and directing New Haven's Shelter for Battered Women ; establishing Connecticut's first WIC produce nutrition program; advocating for arts, humanities, and historic preservation in New Haven; launching initiatives for behavioral health needs of returning National Guard and Reserve members; and introducing a 2021 bill to designate pizza as Connecticut's official state food. She serves on the Appropriations, Environment, and Judiciary Committees.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Marymount College; former instructor at Ohio State University and Rutgers University; earned degrees from Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health, where she published a thesis on AIDS.
