Biography
Patrick J. Chludzinski is a Republican Assembly Member representing New York's 143rd District, which includes the Erie County towns of Cheektowaga and Lancaster, the villages of Depew and Sloan, and portions of Buffalo's Ellicott, Fillmore, and Lovejoy districts. Elected in November 2024, he defeated incumbent Democrat Monica Wallace on Republican and Conservative Party lines. A lifelong resident of Cheektowaga's Village of Sloan, he is a decorated U.S. Army veteran and retired Cheektowaga Police Detective Lieutenant. Notable achievements include six Distinguished Conduct Awards , numerous Letters of Commendation, and military honors such as two Army Commendation Medals with Combat Valor Device, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Combat Service Badge. He prioritizes affordability, lower taxes, and public safety, and has advocated for reimbursing the Maryvale School District for migrant-related costs. Married to Tanya, he is the father of three daughters: Ava, Kendra, and Reyha.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Associate degree in Science Humanities from Erie Community College; studied Psychology and Criminal Justice at Buffalo State College.
- Political Experience: First elected to the New York State Assembly in 2024 as a first-time candidate; previously served 25 years with the Cheektowaga Police Department ; Commander of Cheektowaga Police Honor Guard ; completed 26 law enforcement training courses.
