Biography

Pamelya Herndon is a Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 28 in Bernalillo County since her appointment in June 2021. An attorney and accountant, she has focused her career on social justice, serving as general counsel for the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department , deputy secretary of the New Mexico General Services Department , executive director of the Southwest Women's Law Center , and president/CEO of the KWH Law Center for Social Justice and Change . Notable achievements include sponsoring a $50 million crime package for law enforcement recruitment, voting to create the New Mexico Housing Trust Fund with $25 million for affordable housing, and supporting a $50,000 minimum teacher salary . She is licensed to practice law in Colorado, New Mexico, and before the U.S. Supreme Court, and has served on boards including Emerge New Mexico and the Con Alma Health Foundation.
