Pamela Evette

Pamela Sue Evette was born on August 28, 1967, in Anderson, Ohio. She is the 93rd Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, serving since January 9, 2019. Evette is a member of the Republican Party and made history as the first female Republican Lieutenant Governor in South Carolina's history. She is also the first lieutenant governor to be elected on the same ticket as the governor, serving alongside Governor Henry McMaster. Prior to becoming lieutenant governor, Evette was a successful businesswoman in Upstate South Carolina.

Education

Evette earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Cleveland State University, completing her degree between 1987 and 1989. She also attended Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, where she studied Accounting and Business Management from 1985 to 1987.

Political Experience and Notable Achievements

Before entering politics, Evette founded *Quality Business Solutions, Inc. *, a payroll, human resources, and benefits services firm headquartered in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Under her leadership as President and CEO, the company grew from a startup into a billion-dollar enterprise and was named one of the nation's fastest-growing small businesses. QBS has been repeatedly recognized among the best places to work in South Carolina.

In the 2018 election, Evette was elected Lieutenant Governor on November 6, defeating Mandy Powers Norrell. Her election was historic, as she was the first lieutenant governor to be elected on the same ticket as the governor, changing South Carolina's electoral process.

As Lieutenant Governor, Evette has focused on promoting small business development and public-private partnerships throughout South Carolina. In 2024, she launched her "Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders" Employment Initiative to help young people enter the workforce and develop critical life skills. She is known for her advocacy on parental rights, support for law enforcement, and commitment to keeping South Carolina families and communities safe.
