Biography
Delegate Otto Wachsmann
Howard Otto Wachsmann Jr., known as Otto, is an American politician and pharmacist representing Virginia's 83rd District in the House of Delegates. A Republican, he has served since January 2022, following his election in November 2021. He resides in Stony Creek, Virginia, with his spouse Judith Carol Hodge Wachsmann. They have two children, Katherine Parker and Kirsten.
The 83rd District encompasses the counties of Brunswick, Dinwiddie , Greensville, Isle of Wight , Southampton, and Sussex, as well as the City of Emporia, spanning parts of the 2nd and 4th Congressional Districts.
Education
Wachsmann holds degrees from respected institutions:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University
- Doctor of Pharmacy from Shenandoah University
He also attended The College of William and Mary.
Political Experience
Since taking office in 2022, Wachsmann has served on several House committees:

Beyond his legislative duties, Wachsmann has been an advocate for small business development in Richmond. He returned to Stony Creek in 2003 to take over his father's pharmacy and maintains professional affiliations with the Virginia Pharmacists Association and American Pharmacist Association.
