Norlin Mommsen is a Republican Iowa State Representative for House District 70, serving since 2014 and currently in his fourth term. Born on November 2, 1957, in Clinton, he was raised in Miles and resides in DeWitt. A farmer growing corn and soybeans while raising cattle, he is married to Denise and has five children. Notable positions include Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee, and service on committees for Agriculture, Appropriations, Natural Resources, and Transportation.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from East Central High School in Miles; attended the farm operations program at Iowa State University.
• Political Experience: Elected in 2014; rural representative on the Clinton County Justice Coordinating Commission; past board member of Clinton County Farm Bureau and Great River Threshers; involved with Clinton County 4-H Youth Board, Miles Area Lions Club, Community Ambulance Service, and FFA Alumni.
