Biography
Norine K. Hammond is a Republican state representative serving Illinois House District 94, which encompasses all or part of 12 counties. Appointed on December 9, 2010, to succeed the late Rep. Rich Myers, she previously worked as his legislative aide from 1997 to 2010, handling constituent services. She serves as Deputy Minority Leader , acting as chief budget negotiator for the House Republican Caucus, and holds roles including President of the Board of State Agriculture and Rural Leaders and Illinois representative on the Council of State Governments Agriculture Committee. Notable committee positions include Republican Spokesperson for Consumer Protection, Higher Education, Human Services, Rules, and Public Utilities; she also serves on the Legislative Ethics Commission, Appropriations-Higher Education, Insurance, and Cyber Security/Data Analytics/IT. Earlier local roles include Emmet Township Trustee , Township Supervisor , and Macomb Planning Commission member. Born in Berwyn, Illinois, she is married to Leonard Hammond with one daughter, Trish.
