Biography
Noah Burroughs is a Democratic/Working Families member of the New York State Assembly representing District 18, which includes Baldwin, Freeport, Hempstead, Lakeview, Roosevelt, and Uniondale. Born on June 11, 1976, in Hempstead, N.Y., he is a former NFL player for the New York Jets, educator, coach, and former Hempstead Village Trustee. He was sworn in as Assembly Member for District 18 in 2025 and has served Hempstead's children for over 20 years as a tireless advocate. Notable achievements include founding a nonprofit, securing funding through federal relationships for housing and infrastructure, advancing mixed-income housing projects, and addressing asylum seeker challenges. He holds affiliations such as NFLPA NY/NJ Treasurer, U.S. President’s Award for Volunteer Service, and Drug Free World Ambassador.
