Biography
Nissa Jones is a Democratic representative for Georgia House District 143, which covers Macon-Bibb and Warner Robins. Born on July 11, 1971, she was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2024. She is a board-certified chiropractor recognized as the first African American chiropractor in Macon, Georgia, and a nationally acclaimed specialist in disc, personal injury, and rehabilitation care. Jones is also a nationally recognized author and speaker, a director for the Georgia Chiropractic Association, and holds leadership roles including past president of the Main Street Macon Board, board member of NewTown Macon and the Rosa Jackson Advisory Board, and member of the Sisterhood organization promoting HIV/AIDS awareness.
Notable achievements include being the first African American and first female District Leader of the Georgia Chiropractic Association for District 14 in 2013, voted Best of the Best Chiropractor and Chiropractic Facility in Macon in 2017 and 2018, 2004 alumnus of Leadership Macon, 2018 Middle Georgia Regional Champion, past state committee member and executive board member of the Macon-Bibb County Democratic Party, and past vice-chair and District 1 Commissioner for the Macon Water Authority.

- Education: B.S. in Biology – Pre-Medicine from Fort Valley State University; graduated from Life University and Wesleyan College.
- Political Experience: Elected Georgia State Representative for HD 143 in 2024; past state committee member of the Georgia Democratic Party; executive board member and chair of the Macon-Bibb County Democratic Party; vice-chair and District 1 Commissioner for the Macon Water Authority, chairing the Personnel Committee for 6 years.
