Biography
Niraj J. Antani is a Republican politician born on February 26, 1991, in Miami Township, Ohio, and raised in Miamisburg. He served as Ohio State Senator for the 6th District from 2021 to 2024, becoming the first Indian American State Senator in Ohio history and the youngest Indian and Hindu American state or federal elected official in the U.S. Previously, he represented the 42nd District in the Ohio House of Representatives for three terms from 2014 to 2021, elected at age 23 as the youngest member of both the Ohio Senate and House during his service. Notable achievements include recognition as Forbes' top "30 Under 30" in law & policy , Newsmax's 2nd most influential Republican under 30 , and Legislator of the Year by groups supporting veterans, community colleges, individuals with Down syndrome, and NFIB. He held key roles such as Vice Chair of the Senate Health Committee, Vice Chair of the House Rules and Insurance Committees, and long-time member of the Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee. In 2025, he briefly campaigned for Ohio Secretary of State before switching to run for Ohio State Treasurer.
