Biography
Nikki Torres is a Republican state senator representing Washington's 15th Legislative District, which includes the Yakima Valley and Tri-Cities area. A lifelong Mid-Columbia resident, she was elected to the Washington State Senate in November 2022 and assumed office on January 9, 2023. She currently serves as Republican Deputy Floor Leader and focuses on agriculture, economic development, education, Hanford technologies, and diverse communities. Notable achievements include past roles as president of the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Pasco City Council member, and service on boards like Tri-Cities Community Health and Visit Tri-Cities. She introduced Senate Bill 5631 in 2024 to clarify state agency websites for DACA recipients' access to programs. Torres is a business professional, Christian, mother of two daughters, and grandmother of three.
