Nicole Klarides-Ditria

Nicole Klarides-Ditria was born on November 17, 1968, in Seymour, Connecticut, where she remains a lifelong resident. Her family's commitment to community service runs deep—her grandparents emigrated from Greece and founded Klarides Supermarkets, instilling values of hard work and civic engagement that shaped her career. Growing up, she worked at her family's supermarkets in Seymour and Derby.

Notably, her sister, Themis Klarides, served as the former Minority Leader of the Connecticut House of Representatives. The siblings made history as the first sisters to serve together in the Connecticut State House of Representatives, serving alongside each other from 2016 to 2020.

Education

Klarides-Ditria earned a bachelor's degree in business/management/marketing from Quinnipiac University in 1990. Early in her career, she worked as an athletic trainer for Lauralton Hall High School in Milford, Connecticut.

- Elected to the Seymour Board of Selectmen in 2011 and unanimously voted by Democrats and Republicans to become Deputy First Selectman
- Re-elected to the Board of Selectmen in 2013 and 2015, stepping down from the deputy position after winning her state representative election
