Nicole Collier is a Democratic Texas State Representative for House District 95 in Tarrant County, Fort Worth, first elected in 2012 and assuming office in 2013 as the first woman to represent the district. She has been re-elected multiple times, including to her sixth term in 2022 and serving as a seven-term representative. Born on September 12, 1972, she is an attorney, small business owner at West & Associates, mother of three , grandmother, and married to Gary. A former single mother who completed high school while raising two children, she overcame challenges through family support and faith to pursue higher education and public service.

Notable achievements include being the first woman to chair the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence during the 86th Legislature in 2019, chairing the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and serving as Second Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus in the 88th Legislature. She has focused on affordable housing, renters’ rights, healthcare access, criminal justice reform, and maternal health disparities . Awards include the Roy Wilkins Civil Rights Award from the NAACP and Regional Legislator of the Year from the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
