Biography
Nicholas P. Scutari is a Democratic State Senator representing New Jersey's 22nd Legislative District, which includes municipalities in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union Counties such as Linden, Clark, Fanwood, Plainfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Dunellen, Middlesex, Green Brook, North Plainfield, and Winfield. Born on November 18, 1968, in Linden, New Jersey, where he has resided lifelong, Scutari has served as President of the New Jersey State Senate since 2022. He previously chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee—the longest-serving in state history—and continues advocating for judicial vetting, insurance reform, quality education, and cannabis legalization, spearheading 2021 legislation to establish New Jersey's cannabis industry framework, creating jobs and addressing legal injustices. He also serves as Union County Democratic Committee Chairman, Linden City Prosecutor , and maintains a private law practice.
