Biography

Senator Nick Miller

Nick Miller is a Democratic state senator representing Pennsylvania's 14th Senatorial District, which encompasses communities in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. A fifth-generation Allentown resident, Miller was raised by a public servant who instilled in him the importance of community service. Following his undergraduate education, he built a career as a Project Manager before launching his own business ventures, including founding TeraDrones, LLC, a drone technology company.

Miller was elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in 2022 at age 27, making him the youngest Pennsylvanian elected to the state senate in 135 years. Since taking office, he has championed historic investments in public education, supported small business development and family-sustaining jobs, and backed community safety initiatives.

Education

Miller graduated from Penn State University. He later earned two master's degrees from the University of Pennsylvania—one in public administration and one in law—while simultaneously serving on the Allentown School Board.

Political Experience

Miller began his public service career on the Allentown School Board, where he directed $34 million in federal funds toward modernizing school buildings and improving learning environments while serving the district's 17,000 students.

Following his election to the state senate in 2022, Miller was elected chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Policy Committee in 2023 at age 29, becoming the youngest member in history to hold a leadership position in the state Senate. During his tenure, he has served as chair of the Senate Finance Committee and held membership on the Appropriations, Community, Economic & Recreational Development, Urban Affairs & Housing, and Policy Committees. His legislative priorities include public school funding, community safety, economic opportunity for working families, support for small businesses, LGBTQIA+ rights, water safety, and environmental preservation.
