Biography
Nick Menapace is a Democratic state representative for Connecticut's 37th District, which includes East Lyme, Montville, and Salem. Born on August 31, 1989, he assumed office on January 8, 2025, with his term ending in 2027. A lifelong Connecticut resident and educator, he teaches middle school social studies in Norwich and serves on the East Lyme Planning Commission. He ran unsuccessfully in 2022 before winning election in 2024 on the Democratic and Working Families lines. Menapace focuses on affordability, education, housing, and equitable policies for working families. He is an Eagle Scout, married to engineer Stephanie, and lives in East Lyme with their dog Minnie.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: High school diploma from South Windsor High School; bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University .
- Political Experience: Elected to Connecticut House of Representatives ; member of Education, Finance Revenue and Bonding, and Government Administration committees; prior service on East Lyme Planning Commission; unsuccessful 2022 campaign for state representative.
