Nick Langworthy (NY-23)

Biography

Nick Langworthy is a Republican representative for New York's 23rd Congressional District, which covers Western New York and the Southern Tier, including Chautauqua, Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Tioga Counties, and parts of Erie, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties. Born on February 27, 1981, in South Dayton, New York, he was elected to Congress in 2022 following a special election vacancy and has served since 2023, currently in his second term as of 2026. He lives with his wife, Erin, and two children in Niagara County. Notable achievements include serving as the youngest chairman of the New York Republican State Committee , chairing the Erie County Republican Committee, and holding leadership roles such as Chairman of the Aviation Safety Caucus, co-chair of the Maple Caucus, and member of the Northern Border Security Caucus and Rural Health Caucus. In Congress, he serves on the House Rules, Energy and Commerce, and Oversight Committees, prioritizing constituent services, economic opportunity, rural advocacy, and energy production expansion, including co-sponsoring the Lower Energy Costs Act.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a BA in Political Science and Government from Niagara University , where he founded the Young Republicans Club, chaired the New York College Republican State Committee, and led the Northeast Caucus of the College Republican National Committee.
• Political Experience: Began career in former Congressman Tom Reynolds' district office, developing constituent services; managed Reynolds' 2006 campaign and Chris Lee's 2008 campaign; chaired Erie County Republican Committee ; served on Trump's 2017 presidential transition team executive committee; chaired New York Republican State Committee , supported by Trump allies; elected to U.S. House in 2022 general election after working on local GOP efforts. Grew up working in his family's bar and restaurant business, emphasizing small-town values.
