Biography
Nicholas J. Allen is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 8 in Baltimore County. Raised in Maryland as the son of a Baltimore County Public Schools teacher and a Naval Academy graduate, he was elected in November 2022, winning 32.2% in the Democratic primary and 19.82% in the general election, and sworn in on January 11, 2023. He currently serves as Deputy Majority Whip , on the House Environment and Transportation Committee , the Joint Committee on the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Critical Area , Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus , as an associate member of the Maryland Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus , and on the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Workgroup , Commission on Veterans and Military Families , and Chesapeake Bay Commission . Notable achievements include sponsoring a 2025 bill revising funding mandates for housing cooperatives, condominiums, and homeowners associations. Married to Nicole , he lives in Parkville with their two rescue dogs.

- Education: Graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School ; Bachelor of Arts in arts, philosophy, and literature from the United States Military Academy at West Point , commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
