Nelie Lebrón Robles
Nelie Lebrón Robles is a native of Guayama, Puerto Rico, and a multitalented professional who has built a career bridging music, education, and public service. She grew up in Guayama before later residing in Carolina. Her family has a strong musical tradition, with her entire maternal family being singers, and music was an integral part of her family gatherings.
Education and Professional Background
Lebrón Robles is a music professor at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, specializing in Music Education. She is an accomplished musician and vocalist, performing professionally as a bomba singer. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to sing bomba at the Festival Casals with the Brass Section of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, representing a significant achievement in preserving and advancing Puerto Rican musical traditions.
Political Experience
Lebrón Robles is a member of the *Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño * and was elected to the Puerto Rico Legislature representing District 40 as part of the Alliance coalition. She was elected under the "ley de minorías" , which expanded the PIP delegation in the Capitol to five legislators. She serves as a legislator committed to advocating for the interests of her constituents and the Puerto Rican people.
