Neal Dunn (FL-2)

Biography

Neal Dunn is a Republican U.S. Representative for Florida's 2nd Congressional District, the largest east of the Mississippi River, spanning all or part of 16 counties in North Florida. Born on February 16, 1953, in Boston, MA, he was raised in a multi-generational Army family, living on over 20 military installations worldwide, including two years in Vietnam. An Eagle Scout and National Merit Scholar, Dunn is a retired urologist who practiced in Panama City, FL, for 25 years after 11 years as an Army surgeon. He founded the Advanced Urology Institute, a 50-physician practice, and served as founding Chairman of Summit Bank. Elected to Congress in 2016 and reelected four times, he lives in Panama City with his wife Leah; they have three sons and five grandchildren.

Notable achievements and positions: Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health; serves on the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, House Democracy Partnership, and House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence. Former roles include Chief of Staff at Gulf Coast Hospital and Chairman of the Florida Medical Association’s Council on Legislation.
