Biography

Nate Blouin is a Democratic state senator representing District 13 in the Utah State Senate, covering parts of Sugar House, Millcreek, Murray, West Valley City, and South Salt Lake. Born in 1989, he was elected in 2022, defeating incumbent Gene Davis in the Democratic primary with 76% of the vote and Republican Roger Stout in the general election with 72%, becoming the youngest member of the Utah Senate at age 33. A progressive focused on environmental issues, he advocates for clean energy, Great Salt Lake restoration, affordable housing, and air quality; notable achievements include sponsoring 2023 legislation for Great Salt Lake restoration and commercial energy storage incentives, and selection for the 2024 Energy & Environment Innovation Fellowship by Future Caucus.
