Biography

Natasha Marcus is a Democrat who served as a three-term North Carolina State Senator representing District 41 from 2019 through 2024. She was the 2024 Democratic Nominee for North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance. A community leader for over 30 years, she has advocated for public schools, affordable health care, clean water, common sense gun safety reform, fair elections, better wages, and local initiatives. Notable achievements include serving on key Senate committees—Commerce and Insurance, Judiciary, Redistricting & Elections, Budget, and Education—and frontline activism in Moral Monday protests, gun violence prevention, women's rights marches, Black Lives Matter, Habitat for Humanity, voter registration drives, and mentoring young women in politics. She is a mother of two daughters and the daughter of a public school teacher and a lawyer who held elected office.
