Biography
Senator Natalie Figueroa represents District 18 in the New Mexico State Senate, covering Bernalillo County. She previously served in the New Mexico House of Representatives for District 30 from 2019 to 2024, after winning election in 2018 by defeating incumbent Republican Nate Gentry. In 2024, she won the general election for Senate District 18 with 15,131 votes. As a Spanish language teacher, she has focused on education, economic development, healthcare access, gun violence prevention, and climate protection. Notable achievements include co-sponsoring the Chop Shop Bill, which led to an 11% decrease in Albuquerque auto thefts. She serves on the Senate Education Committee and the Senate Committee on Economic and Rural Development and Policy.
