Biography

Nasif Majeed is a Democratic representative for North Carolina House District 99 in Mecklenburg County, serving since 2019. Born on September 27, 1945, he is a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran who flew over 120 combat missions as a B-52 pilot during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1973, and later became the first African American to own and operate a Burger King franchise in Charlotte. A businessman by occupation, Majeed previously served eight years on the Charlotte City Council, focusing on infrastructure, economic opportunities, affordable housing, public transportation, and small business development.
