Biography

Nancy Lynn VanderMeer is a Republican representing Wisconsin's 70th Assembly District, which includes areas around Tomah in Monroe County. A businesswoman from the Town of Greenfield, she owns and previously managed her family's VanderMeer Motor Company dealership. Married to David Hall for over 25 years, they reside on his family's fifth-generation dairy farm, milking over 200 head daily. She is active in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and community service, including roles on the Tomah Memorial Hospital Board, Tomah Chamber Board, and Handi-Shop Board to support individuals with disabilities.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated from Evergreen Park Community High School ; earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse ; completed the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development .
  • Political Experience: Ran unsuccessfully for Assembly District 70 in 2012, losing to Democratic incumbent Amy Sue Vruwink. Elected in 2014 by defeating Vruwink and has served continuously since, including re-elections in 2020 and 2024. Serves on the Assembly Committee on Rural Development and advocates for job training, such as Tomah School District's School-to-Work program.
